What is DAN Instructor Qualification Course? (IQC)

Providing emergency oxygen is a skill recommended for every diver. Learning to use oxygen is not difficult, but it does require proper instruction and practice with the equipment under the direction of a qualified instructor. The IQC trains and educates qualified Scuba diving Educators to plan, manage, conduct and promote dive safety through DAN training programs. (2-4 hours: Knowledge & Skills development time)

Qualification for DAN O2 Instructor

Successful completion of the DAN IQC results in certification recognizing the instructor candidate understanding and performance of the knowledge and skills contain within the Emergency Oxygen Provider program.

To maintain active teaching status with DAN, the instructor must teach or assist in teaching the Oxygen Provider course once within a 24 month period.

Provider Level Courses

Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving injuries- 95 $US (2-4 hours): Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving injuries represents entry-level training to educate the general diving (and non-qualified diving) public to better recognize possible dive-related injuries and to provide emergency Oxygen First Aid while activating the local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation to the nearest medical facility.
AED for Scuba Diving Injuries (2 hours) : DAN Automated External Defibrillators (AED) design to educate the general diving (and non-qualified diving) public to better recognize the early sign of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and administer first aid using Basic Life Support techniques and AED while activating the local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation to the nearest medical facility.
First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries (2 hours): First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life (HML) is designed to educate the general public to identify hazardous marine life, to recognize possible injuries caused by hazardous marine life, to provide first aid and or to avoid hazardous marine life.
